Making the world a better place has been a goal I've held since I was very young. It led me to a career in philanthropy and kept me there.

I joined National Philanthropic Trust (NPT) in 1996 as Vice President and was named President and CEO in 1998. I grew the organization from two employees and no assets into the largest independent sponsor of Donor-Advised Funds (DAFs) in the United States, with operations across three continents. I introduced private-label programs that became sector-wide standards, launched the first international DAF platform outside the United States, and built the governance infrastructure to sustain growth at scale.

I retired as CEO in June 2024. Today I serve as a Senior Fellow at the University of Pennsylvania's Center for High Impact Philanthropy, where I have taught graduate philanthropy since 2006. I advise boards, speak at national and international conferences, and work with organizations and leaders navigating their most consequential moments.
